In this volume, the 1851 author's revised edition of the Tales of the Alhambra, American author Washington Irving (1783–1859) revised and enlarged to 41 tales his collection of essays, verbal sketches and stories. The book combines description, myth and narrations of real historical events that were recorded, inspired by, and partly written during, his 1828 visit to the palace/fortress complex known as the Alhambra in Granada, Andalusia, Spain.
